Mabie Forest, just on the outskirts of Dumfries nestled in Southern Scotland is home to a vast choice of walks and trails for all ages and abilities, world class 7 Stanes mountain biking trails, adventure playground, wildlife and butterfly reserve.
With stunning views across the picturesque Solway coast and beyond at almost every turn, and plenty of wildlife watching opportunities throughout the forest there really is something for everyone at Mabie.
At the main trailhead car park (charges apply – although hotel guests can park at the hotel for free) there are toilets and picnic benches.
We have had two evening meals at the Mabie House Hotel and they have both been outstanding. The house looks amazing, and it is nice to go for a meal in a place that is very relaxing, with nice grounds, good staff and great food. I really think the food is the very very best. All four main courses and deserts that we have tried have been amazing. We will be going back there many more times.
