Special requests, allergies, our experienced team and wedding planners are well versed in ensuring your special day runs smoothly and just how you want it to.

Below are a few of the most frequently asked questions, however if there’s anything you’d like to know – please contact us for more information.

What is the smallest/largest wedding party you can cater for?

We’ve hosted weddings of all shapes and sizes, ranging from 250 guests seated and served for dinner in a marquee to just the bride and groom (we’ve even stepped in as witnesses before now!).

What does it cost to get married at Mabie House?

Nothing.  Unlike many venues, we don’t charge for the use or hire of the hotel.  In fact, our costs relate entirely to catering, drinks and any extras or special touches you’d like us to help with during your day.

Can we decorate the wedding room to our own taste?

Yes, absolutely!

It’s your special day and we’ll do our best to help make it just the way you want it.  Everything can be tailored just for you, from table decorations, flowers, lighting, candles, bunting, chair covers to sashes.

Can we hire out the hotel exclusively?

Yes you can, however on certain days/months there may be a charge for this.

Do we have to block book all of the accommodation?

No, there’s no obligation to book all of our rooms for your wedding, however we do offer a reduced rate on hotel rooms for guests looking to make the hotel theirs for the duration.  Please contact our wedding planner or reception team for more details.

Can we have fireworks?

Sure! However, for safety reasons all fireworks be supplied and set off by a member of Mabie House Hotel staff, with a 10pm limit.

Do you have your own marquee?

Unfortunately not, however we work with several excellent companies that we can recommend for your marquee hire, and will help and assist with the organisation as much (or as little!) as required.

Can we bring our own wine/champagne?

Yes, you are more than welcome to supply your own wine and/or champagne, we just require a corkage charge per bottle served.

Do we need to pay a deposit?

Yes, we request a deposit of £500 (non-refundable) to secure your day, which is later deducted from your final bill.

When is the final payment due?

Payment for food is due 30 days before the big day, which is also when we require details of final numbers.  Drinks, accommodation and any other extras can be settled after.

Can we throw confetti?

Yes, no problem at all.

Do you have a red carpet/cake stand/cake knife?

Yes we do, you are welcome to use any of these with no charge.

Do you have a children’s option for meals?

Yes, we offer a range of kid-friendly meal options ranging from fish fingers, nuggets or sausage and chips to half portions of adults meals at half price.
